The top management teams of China Shijiazhuang Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd. (CSPC) and the Micriobio Group (Microbio, Oneness, and Fountain Biopharma) recently initiated a conversation on new cooperative drug development and signed a MOU. The common goal is to maximize the strength of both sides and expand the market potential of novel drug development. This represents the first major collaboration of cross-strait biotech heavyweights.
The Microbio Group is one of the most successful and promising biotech group with several innovative new drugs in clinical development and more than a dozen potential candidates in the pipeline, which include botanical drugs, new chemical entities, and monoclonal antibodies. The specific drug product named in this collaboration include Microbio’s botanical-based drugs ChemoYoung and Herbiron, and candidates to treat ailments such as diabetes and cancer.
Chairman William Lu of Microbio states that CSPC is the first Chinese company to be successfully listed on overseas stock market and has diverse product portfolio and major medical sales channel in Greater China area. Development-wise, CSPC has dedicated itself to new drug development and together with Microbio’s promising drug pipeline, will have a significant advantage in Asia-Pacific Market penetration and bring mutual benefit to the table.
Chairman Robin Cai of CSPC expressed that Microbio being one of the top-ranking Taiwanese innovative research and development-based companies, and products such ChemoYoung and Herbiron has immense potential in the market of Great China. Cai believes that this cooperative platform can complement each other and be the first step to create an advantageous market edge and make global impact one day.
